Product Liability

Our products are manufactured from reclaimed, rescued, or recovered wood.  There are many advantages to using reclaimed wood.  The character, stability and patina of old growth wood can only be found in centuries old barns, warehouses, mills and recovered logs.  However, some of the same characteristics that gives reclaimed wood its uniqueness, also create practical issues that need to be considered.

It is the customer’s responsibility to verify the suitability of our products for a particular project in order to while accounting for yield and waste issues during construction.  Old Barn Reclaimed Wood Co. does not represent its products to be free of metal, dirt, insects/bugs, or other contaminants.  The customer is responsible for verifying that the material is fit for sawing or processing. From time to time customers will specify that we Kiln Dry or fumigate our products in an attempt to minimize the possibility of issues relating to insects or bugs. These services do not guarantee that the material is or will be completely insect/bug free.  We accept no liability or responsibility for damage, injury or harm to people and/or property resulting from the processing of our products.

If you believe there is an issue with a non-conforming product materially different from the specifications set forth in the proposal or specification pages, you must notify Old Barn Reclaimed Wood Co. within 5 days of the shipment’s receipt.  Old Barn Reclaimed Wood Co.'s liability is limited to the replacement of the product.  We accept no other liability or responsibility for rejected and/or defective products.
